If you earn more than the minimum 720 experience points you can substitute the surplus for up to 300 of the 630 related hours – every two points above 720 earns credit for one classroom hour. A bachelor’s degree counts for up to 300 hours.

What Experience Do You Need to Become a Texas Broker?

Beyond the education, TREC requires at least four years of active experience as a licensed real estate sales agent or broker during the 60-month period preceding your application. That experience must total 720 experience points. Points are awarded per transaction according to type – a closed residential purchase or sale is worth 30 points – and you report them on TREC’s Supplement A qualifying experience report, certified by your sponsoring broker.
