What Are the 2026 New York Salesperson License Requirements?
The 2026 New York Real Estate License Requirements are as follows;
- You must be at least 18 years of age
- Complete 77 hours of New York Department of State approved qualifying education
- Hold a current New York State photo driver’s license or non-driver ID card
- Pass the New York State salesperson examination. The written exam fee is $15
- Be sponsored by a New York State licensed real estate broker. A salesperson cannot operate independently, and your principal broker must authorize your application in eAccessNY
- Submit your initial license application to the Department of State with the $65 application fee. The license term is two years.
- Be honest, reliable, and of good moral character
- Disclose if under investigation, convicted of a crime or ever entered a plea of nolo contendere / no contest or guilty
- Disclose any aliases or A/K/A
- Disclose if you have had a previous license that has been denied, suspended or surrendered.
