Step 4: Schedule and Pass your NYS Real Estate License Exam

In order to obtain a New York Real Estate License, you must pass the NYS Real Estate Exam with a grade of 70% or higher. You need to schedule your New York Real Estate exam on the New York Department of State Occupational Licensing Management System, eAccess NY.

How much is the NYS real estate exam?

The NYS Real Estate Examination Fee is $15.

New York State provides and administers the NYS Real Estate exam. You must pass the exam prior to applying for a NY real estate salesperson license. The exam consists of 75 multiple-choice questions. You must pass with a grade of 70% or higher. You have 1.5 hours to complete the exam.

How do I prepare for the NYS real estate exam?

How long does it take to get NY real estate exam results?

It takes around 2 weeks for the state to issue your NY real estate exam results- Exam results will be available online, through your account in eAccessNY. The exam results will be available as soon as possible after they are received by the Exam Unit and scored.

How much does a real estate license cost in New York?

The NY real estate salesperson license application fee is $55, and the license will be effective for two years.
